Just about all my thoughts right now are about Saturday's arrival of Brian, Ann, and Natasha! We have everything ready:
- Jim installed the safety gate upstairs yesterday.
- The sheets are on the bed in the guest bedroom, and the crib is ready for Natasha (but will she sleep in it???).
- The bathrooms are stocked with diapers and wipes, and the upstairs bathroom has rubber duckies ready to take a bath with Natasha.
- The pantry is full of healthy baby food (but will she eat it???), and the freezer is bursting with banana and pumpkin breads, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and Christmas cookies!!!
- The leaf is in the kitchen table ready to accommodate our expanding family.
- In a few days, Jim will be picking up the baby seat for the car that we are borrowing.
- The toys and books we have bought and borrowed are collected in the living room, waiting for a special little someone to play with them.
- The Christmas in October gifts are wrapped and waiting for Dave and Meg to arrive on the 15th so the whole family can put up the Christmas tree together, a dream I had long abandonned when Brian moved to Thailand.
- The stockings have been hung by the chimney with care, and our house looks like Christmas is just around the corner . . . we sorta bypassed Halloween and Thanksgiving for the time being.
